How many dresses do a woman need?
Plenty, of course.

With that slogan in mind I returned to the sewing machine.


Months ago I cut a dress,  1940’s naturally, in a dark blue linen-cotton mix. A difficult  pattern it turned out to be – and wrong was I when I sew the collar. My mother, the teacher and weaver, gave me a tough homework. Almost every stich was wrong!
